About this role

Job summary Are you a passionate General Practitioner with Extended Role in ADHD looking for an exciting and rewarding challenge? We have a fantastic opportunity for a GPwER in ADHD within our Adult Community Services at HCRG Care Group. This role offers the chance to work with adults presenting with ADHD and related neurodevelopmental conditions, delivering high-quality care and medication management within the community. As a GPwER in Adult ADHD, you will play a key role in assessing, diagnosing, and providing treatment to adults with ADHD, as well as managing the prescribing of medication where necessary. You will work collaboratively with our community-based Learning Disability and Autism Network (LDAN), HCRG Care Group teams across BSW, and external partners. As an experienced, autonomous member of the team, you will be responsible for assessing health needs in accordance with locally agreed pathways, which may also include the review and development of new care pathways. You will also receive specialist supervision from the Lead Professional and work closely with other clinicians in a multidisciplinary team. This role offers a high degree of flexibility, enabling you to balance your professional commitments with your personal life while making a meaningful impact for the people you support. The post is based at St Martins Hospital and includes a hybrid working model, with opportunities to deliver clinics virtually or by telephone.

The position is 15 hours per week. The full-time equivalent salary range is £61,542 to £99,216 per annum, dependent on experience, pro rata to 15 hours per week.

Main Responsibilities Regular Face-to-Face Clinics: Assess service users presenting with neurodevelopmental difficulties (e.g., ADHD, ASD) to identify health, developmental, or educational concerns and provide clinically guided opinions. Community Clinics: Deliver community clinics for service users in accordance with established referral criteria, conducting assessments and offering expert clinical guidance. ADHD and Medication Management: Conduct regular face-to-face and telephone clinics to manage ADHD, including medication prescribing and ongoing management. Ongoing Medical Management: Retain knowledge of neurodevelopmental disorders and their medical management, ensuring high-quality care for service users requiring continuous support. Supervision and Liaison: Engage in regular supervision and communication with colleagues to ensure continuity and consistency of care across service users. Administrative Tasks: Undertake office-based administrative duties such as arranging further investigations, referrals, and written communication with professionals and families. Clinical Records: Maintain contemporaneous clinical records on SystmOne to ensure up-to-date, accurate documentation of patient care. Collaboration with Healthcare and Social Providers: Communicate effectively with community healthcare teams, social care providers, and education teams as necessary to coordinate care. Communication with Service Users and Families: Maintain excellent communication with service users and their families, ensuring care plans are understood and followed.Please see job description attached for full details of the role.

The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

Full GMC registration. A UK Recognised Medical Degree and a License to Practice. Experience in ADHD management and interest in neurodevelopmental disorders. Qualified prescriber of medication for ADHD. Experience in working with adults in a clinical setting. Understanding of risk management, safeguarding, and clinical governance. Strong communication skills, with an ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and patients. Ability to manage clinical records, including the use of SystmOne.Desirable Membership to a relevant Royal College (e.g., MRCP). Experience in adult mental health or neurodevelopmental conditions. Experience with research projects, publications, or clinical audits. Further education or training in neurodevelopmental disorders, particularly ADHD. Commitment to continued professional development, including teaching and learning.A Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle is required for this role.

Qualifications Essential

Full GMC registration, UK Recognised Medical Degree, License to Practice, experience in ADHD management, qualified prescriber for ADHD, understanding of risk management, safeguarding, clinical governance, strong communication and collaboration skills, clinical records management including SystmOne.
