Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic Salaried GP to join our team on a fixed term basis. The post is available on a part-time or full-time basis (4 to 6 sessions per week) and would suit a GP looking for a well-supported, long-term role in a high-quality training practice.
Salary: from £11,500 to £12,000 depending on experience
Sessions: 4 to 6 sessions per week (Ideally on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, OR Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday)
Contract type: Fixed-term (12 months)
Location: Burney Street Practice, SE10 / Wallace Health Centre, SE8
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will deliver safe, effective, and patient-centred primary care across both of our sites. Day-to-day, this includes face-to-face, telephone, and online consultations, duty and script shifts on a rota basis, home visits, and the management of acute and chronic conditions. The role also encompasses results review, prescribing, and associated administration. Beyond clinical work, the post-holder will contribute to QoF and Enhanced Services, participate in audits and MDT meetings, support the teaching and supervision of medical students, and play an active part in the ongoing development of our services and team culture.

Burney Street Practice is a GP-led, patient-centred PMS practice with approximately 15,000 registered patients, using the EMIS Web clinical system. We are a recognised training practice with a strong emphasis on clinical excellence, innovation, and a friendly, welcoming environment for both patients and staff.
Our clinical team comprises 4 GP Partners, 7 Salaried GPs, a nursing team, and a range of ARRS roles, supported by a dedicated and diverse administrative team. We operate across two sites, Burney Street Practice, SE10 8EX, and Wallace Health Centre (SE8 3BX).

Clinical Responsibilities
Provide high-quality, evidence-based care to our patients
Conduct face-to-face, telephone, and online consultations Undertake duty, script, and out-of-hours consultations as required, on a rota basis Manage acute and chronic conditions in line with national and local guidelines Undertake home visits Participate in care planning and health promotion for patients with long-term conditions Issue prescriptions appropriately in accordance with practice and NHS policy Review test results, hospital letters, and correspondence promptly Ensure accurate and timely clinical record keeping using the EMIS clinical system
Quality & Governance
Contribute to the achievement of QoF, Enhanced Services, and other clinical targets Participate in clinical audits, significant event analysis, and learning reviews Promote evidence-based practice and participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives Maintain awareness of safeguarding responsibilities for both adults and children Adhere to all relevant practice and NHS policies including infection control, confidentiality, and information governance
Professional Development
Engage in appraisals and revalidation as required by the GMC and NHS England Maintain continued professional development (CPD) and attend mandatory training sessions Support the teaching, mentoring, or supervision of medical students

Work collaboratively with our multi-skilled team including nurses, HCAs, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, first contact physiotherapists, social prescribers, nurse associates, and administrative staff Participate in clinical meetings, case discussions, and multi-disciplinary team (MDT) reviews Support colleagues during absence and contribute to a positive, supportive team culture

Person Specification
Clinical Knowledge and Skills Essential
Outstanding level of clinical knowledge and skills commensurate with an experienced GP Strong understanding of evidence-based practice and clinical governance Excellent communication skills, written and oral, including accurate clinical record-keeping Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team Experience of triage and effective clinical assessment and diagnosis Understanding of safeguarding adults and children Knowledge of medicines management, health promotion, and QoF/enhanced services
