We are looking for a 5 session GP (permanent position starting August 2026) for our James Wigg Practice site to join us on our mission to provide world class accessible care to our patients.
Competitive salaries starting from £11,691 per session (more depending on experience) plus NHS Pension

Clinical Partner mentoring and support for all GPs. Inhouse training for DFSRH, coils and implants. Mix of face to face and telephone appointments. Staff Wellbeing programme. Job Summary:
The post-holder will manage a personal list and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
Job Responsibilities:
The post-holder will undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking, and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork, and correspondence in a timely fashionAssessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problemsScreening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illnessDeveloping care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current evidence based on practice disease management protocolsProviding counselling and health educationReferring patients to specialists and to other care providers as appropriateRecording clear and contemporaneous IT based consultation notes to agreed standardsCollecting data for audit purposes and to meet practice targets (e.g QOF)Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriateIn general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary careParticipate in agreed practice development activities.Attend training, practice meetings and events as appropriate.Participate in supervising learners within the practice (GP Trainees and F2)Maintain a continuing professional development.
