Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR/People professional to play a central role in shaping the future of clinical services across the Bristol NHS Group.
Working as part of the Clinical Services Transformation Programme, you will lead the people and workforce aspects of service changes, supporting the development of Group Clinical Services and the establishment of Single Leadership Teams across multiple hospital sites.
You will act as the senior HR lead for change within the programme, partnering with senior clinical and operational leaders to deliver organisational change. This includes leading consultation processes, managing risk and governance, and ensuring that workforce implications are fully considered and effectively implemented.
About You
You will be an experienced HR professional with a strong track record of leading workforce aspects of complex organisational change programmes, within a good working knowledge of the NHS or a similarly complex environment.
You will bring:
Expertise in organisational change, consultation, and employment law
Experience working with senior stakeholders in complex and politically sensitive environments
Strong influencing, communication, and relationship-building skills
Confidence in managing risk, ambiguity, and competing priorities
A collaborative, values-driven approach to delivering change
Main duties of the job
Lead the people and workforce activity for Group Clinical Services supporting leaders to design, consult on and implement change in a fair, inclusive and well-managed way.
Provide expert advice on workforce risks, sensitive employee relations issues and consultation processes, ensuring staff experience and organisational needs are balanced throughout transformation.
Working collaboratively with Programme Managers, OD, Communications and Trade Union partners, you will ensure activity is coordinated, timely and aligned to agreed governance.
Line manage a People Change Project Lead, supporting their delivery and development within a supportive, values-driven team.

Educated to degree level or equivalent experience CIPD Chartered Member Master's degree/postgraduate study in relevant People (HR or OD) subject or equivalent knowledge and experience Knowledge of the current HR agenda in the NHS, and how this supports service provision, performance, and improvement Strong working knowledge of NHS HR policies, employment law, and change management Significant experience of leading the workforce elements of key organisational change programmes in complex large organisations Experience of advising and coaching managers on complex change processes including restructuring, redundancy, etc. Works across boundaries, looks for collective success, listens, involves, respects, and learns from the contribution of others
