About this role

Job summary

The postholder will:

work autonomously within agreed protocols to perform a range of diagnostic ultrasound examinations and provide independent diagnostic reports.

provide training and education to all members of the team.

Participate in any future 7-day service, working across all OUH sites as required.

Main duties of the job

You will be working autonomously and as part of team undertaking a wide range of examinations. You'll autonomously perform and report ultrasound examinations to a high standard in a professional manner, working within departmental guidelines. Excellent communication skills are essential.

Person Specification

Qualifications: Essential

Diploma/BSc in Radiography or Health related Science Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound or DMU HCPC / RCT Registration or NMC

Desirable

Case accredited

Experience: Essential

Experience in Obstetric, abdominal ultrasound, gynaecological ultrasound including endovaginal scanning, and some small parts ultrasound. Confidence and ability to issue own reports on examinations Evidence of professional development

Special Aptitude: Essential

Ability to work as a team, and independently Ability to organise work load Ability to self manage Adaptable/flexible High technical standards High patient care standards Good working knowledge of a range of ultrasound equipment

Disposition: Essential

Good interpersonal skills Ability to remain calm under pressure Ability to get on with all grades of staff
