Job summary
Come and join our Ultrasound team at Royal Glamorgan Hospital (RGH) and Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda (YCR) within Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.
We are looking for enthusiastic and committed Sonographers to join our friendly and developing ultrasound service in the heart of South Wales.
The successful applicant will work primarily across RGH and YCR, undertaking a varied workload including obstetric, gynaecological and general ultrasound examinations, with the opportunity for occasional cross-site working within CTM.
This post would suit sonographers who enjoy working within a supportive team environment and who are keen to continue developing their clinical skills and scope of practice. We actively encourage continuing professional development and support role expansion in line with departmental priorities and individual interests.
Applicants should hold a recognised qualification in Medical Ultrasound (PgC/PgD/MSc) with current HCPC, NMC or equivalent professional registration. Experience in general ultrasound including transvaginal and obstetric imaging is essential. DQASS registration for combined screening is desirable, although training and support can be provided.

Main duties of the job
To provide a professionally competent Ultrasound service to patients throughout the University Health Board, in a safe clinical environment.
Provide a caring, confidential diagnostic service to all patients, ensuring their dignity and privacy are not compromised.
You will normally be required to work without direct clinical supervision but will report to the Superintendent Radiographers within the Department.
Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn't mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn't 'fluency', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.
