Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to join the Emmeline Centre, a well-established Hearing Implant Service providing cochlear implants and other implantable hearing devices across East Anglia. The Centre is purpose-built and located within Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, and is supported by a friendly, experienced multidisciplinary team.
Main duties of the job

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
BSc/MSc Audiology. PTP/STP/CCC/CAC Audiological Competence (or equivalent). HCPC-Clinical Scientist- Full registration or AHCS registration.
Desirable
PhD/AuD in Audiology or related field. Sign Language: level 1. Counselling/coaching qualification (basic). Training with auditory implants.
Experience Essential
Minimum 3y of experience in general audiology post-qualification. Experience in severe-to-profound and complex audiology clinics.
Desirable
Leadership experience, including a record of successful supervision and training. Evidence of autonomous and unsupervised working. Working with auditory implants. Experienced in paediatric Audiology Previous experience of working in the NHS
Knowledge Essential
Advanced experience in behavioural testing of the full patient age range. Demonstrate IT skills as required for the role. Ability to extract clinical information from and communicate complex technical explanations to, deaf and deafened persons, including carers. Ability to work with patients with profound hearing loss who may also present with additional needs and complex health conditions, who exhibit challenging behaviour, sometimes highly emotive or aggressive. Knowledge of national policies and best practices relevant to hearing implant recipients
Desirable
Experience with the performance of advanced test protocols such as SRT; ESRT; NRT; ECochG. Advanced knowledge in performing and interpreting physiological measures such as ABR; ASSR). Ability and willingness to lead, offer opinions and direction in an effective team-spirited manner. Advanced research skills and evidence of an active published research niche. Awareness of Deaf culture and their perspective about cochlear implantation.
Skills Essential
Active listening and critical thinking while working in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills. Presentation and teaching skills for staff and patients.
Additional Requirements Essential
The ability to understand and behave at all times, towards patients, visitors and colleagues according to the Trust values of safe, kind, excellent.
