Job summary

We are seeking a Consultant Ophthalmologist with specialist interest in Glaucoma to lead and deliver high-quality glaucoma services within our dynamic Ophthalmology Department. You'll be part of a forward-thinking team committed to excellence in clinical care, teaching, and research.
Main duties of the job
Lead the glaucoma service, delivering outpatient clinics, laser treatments, and theatre sessions. Participate in the on-call rota (1 in 12) shared with Ashford & St Peters' Hospital. Supervise and mentor junior medical staff. Contribute to service development, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives. Engage in teaching and research in collaboration with the University of Surrey and the Surrey Cancer Research Institute.

Qualifications Essential
Full registration and a license to practice with the GMC Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Ophthalmology via CCT or Portfolio Pathway MBBS or equivalent FRCOphth or qualification at an equivalent qualification
Experience Essential
Demonstrated ability to lead independent ophthalmology theatre lists Clinical fellowship experience in glaucoma Demonstrated teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level
