Please note: at this stage, the role is open only to colleagues currently employed within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts, the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB) and Medway Community Healthcare. Nursing vacancies are also open to Student Nurses and Newly Qualified Nurses.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable Public Health Assistant to join our Health Visiting service to deliver support to families (adults) with children aged nought to five in Kent.
You will need to be a confident and flexible practitioner, passionate about improving the health and well-being of children through delivery of the healthychild programme.
You will work as part of a team to keep children safe and well by having a good understanding of child development and the importance of play inchildren's lives, learning and language development.
Main duties of the job
What will the role involve?
Working with clients in a variety of community settings, for example, home, clinic, children's centre, educational establishment etc. Completing health and wellbeing reviews, packages of care Undertaking growth monitoring for children aged 0-5 years The delivery of health promotion activities Leading and assisting with the delivery of a variety of Health Visiting clinics and group work, for example,Parenting programmes, introducing solids and Breastfeeding groups. Attending and contributing to team meetings Building relationships with colleagues to enhance the team working environment
This role is a community- based role so the majority of your duties will be carried out between your base and community settings or client homes.

Person Specification
Qualifications, training and experience Essential
A Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) Level 3. This could be an NVQ Level 3 apprenticeship, BTEC or equivalent international qualification in healthcare or able to demonstrate the equivalent level of experience. Recent experience of child development gained through education, work experience or previous employment. Functional Skills at Level 2 (Literacy and numeracy/ GCSE grade A-C/ 4-9 or equivalent in English and Maths)
