Requirements
- Strong experience in IT Asset Management.
- Hands-on experience managing both software and hardware assets.
- Strong knowledge of software licensing, licence compliance and software asset management.
- Previous experience leading, managing or developing a team.
- Experience managing IT assets throughout their complete lifecycle.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work across IT, Procurement, Finance and wider business teams.
- Experience with ITAM, ITSM or CMDB platforms such as ServiceNow is advantageous.
- Good understanding of IT asset governance, controls and audit requirements.
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in a large or complex IT environment is beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of hardware and software assets, from procurement and deployment through to retirement and disposal.
- Maintain accurate IT asset records and ensure asset data is complete, reliable and up to date.
- Manage software licensing, renewals, entitlements and compliance across a range of vendors.
- Identify opportunities to optimise software usage and reduce unnecessary licensing costs.
- Oversee hardware asset management, including laptops, desktops, mobile devices and other IT equipment.
- Lead, support and develop the IT Asset Management team.
- Establish clear processes, controls and governance across the asset management function.
- Work with Procurement and Finance on purchasing, renewals, budgeting and supplier management.
- Support software audits and ensure licensing compliance.
- Produce regular reporting on asset utilisation, compliance, lifecycle status and associated costs.
- Drive continuous improvement across ITAM processes, systems and ways of working.
- Work with Service Management and infrastructure teams to align asset data with wider IT processes.

We are seeking an experienced IT Asset Manager to take ownership of our hardware and software asset management function and help ensure our IT assets are effectively controlled, optimised and managed throughout their lifecycle. This is a key leadership role combining IT asset management, software licensing, hardware asset management and team leadership. You will work closely with IT, Procurement, Finance, Service Management and business stakeholders to improve asset visibility, compliance and governance.
