Requirements
- Experience with Golang (Go), REST APIs, gRPC, microservices architecture, and API design and versioning
- iOS development experience using Swift, including iOS frameworks, SDK development, Swift Package Manager, mobile security, and accessibility
- Cloud and platform engineering experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, Terraform, and Infrastructure as Code
- CI/CD and DevOps experience with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, and cloud automation
- Experience with PostgreSQL, NoSQL databases, Kafka, or event-driven architectures
- Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, monitoring, and performance optimisation
- Desirable: banking or financial services experience, Open Banking exposure, experience building shared frameworks or engineering platforms, AWS/Azure/GCP experience, or CKA/CKAD certification
Responsibilities
- Design and develop REST and gRPC APIs for digital products
- Build scalable microservices using Golang
- Create and maintain reusable iOS frameworks and SDKs using Swift
- Deploy and support applications on Kubernetes
- Automate build, deployment, and infrastructure processes through CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code
- Improve platform reliability, observability, and security
- Collaborate with architects, product teams, and engineers across the wider business
- Support engineering best practice, code quality, and technical standards

We are advertising a 12-month Software Engineer contract based in Bristol, with hybrid working requiring 2–3 days per week on site. The role combines backend engineering, cloud-native development, and iOS framework development across Go microservices, Kubernetes infrastructure, API platforms, and reusable iOS SDKs.
