About this role

Job summary

You will lead and coordinate the administrative service within the Nursing Education, Development and Professional Practice (NEDPP) department. Working as the department's administrative specialist, you will ensure a highly efficient, well-organised and responsive service that supports a busy nursing education and professional practice function.

You will line manage and oversee the administrative team and provide high-quality administrative and PA-level support to senior leaders. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working autonomously, improving systems and supporting others to deliver high standards in a mental health education setting.

Main duties of the job

Oversee and coordinate all administrative services across Continuing Professional Development, Pre-Registration (including apprenticeships) and Professional Practice.

Line manage Band 4 administrative staff, including supervision, appraisal, performance and attendance management.

Act as the departmental administrative specialist, developing and maintaining effective systems, processes and reporting arrangements.

Provide high-quality administrative and PA support to the Associate Director, including diaries, meetings, agendas, minutes and follow-up actions.

Organise complex meetings, events and multidisciplinary activities.

Manage finance-related administrative activity, including ordering, invoice tracking and delegated budget responsibilities.

Support service improvement, performance monitoring and project work.

Hold a degreelevel qualificationor haveequivalent senior administrative or management experience.

Havestrong experience across a wide range of administrative functions.

Have experience of line managing or supervising staff.

Be confidentanalysing,interpretingand presenting information.

Have excellentorganisational,communicationand planning skills.

It would beadvantageousif you:

Have a project management qualification or equivalent experience.

Bring lived experience of mental health issues.

This is a fulltime role, working within Trust policies and procedures, with flexibility discussed in line with service needs. There is the opportunity to work from home if you prefer but regular in office working is expected.

Relevant degree level qualification or equivalent management/senior administrative experience or diploma level plus equivalent experience Evidence of continuous personal and professional development
