Job summary
To support the delivery of safe, timely, and high-quality patient care by coordinating and managing patient pathways across designated services.To proactively manage clinical and administrative capacity, adjusting appointments where required, identifying pressures, and escalating issues to ensure services run efficiently.To oversee patient pathway and appointment coordination, ensuring patients are booked appropriately and seen within national and local access targets, including RTT standards.To maintain accurate pathway tracking, data capture, and waiting list management, supporting performance monitoring and service delivery.To provide day to day supervision and support to administrative staff, contributing to effective workload management and a positive team environment
Main duties of the job
The post holder will proactively manage clinical and administrative capacity within their designated services. This includes adjusting patient appointments when required, identifyingand escalating capacity constraints, and providing cross-cover for other administrative coordinators during periods of planned or unplanned absence. The post holder will provide day to day line management and supervision to designated administrative staff. Responsibilities include overseeing workload allocation, supporting staffdevelopment, managing sickness and annual leave records, conducting appraisals, facilitating training, and ensuring adherence to Trust policies and procedures. The post holder will lead on accurate data capture, validation of patient pathways, and contribute to the effective management of inpatient and outpatient waiting lists. They will support the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data, identify service pressures, and develop improvement plans to ensure targets are met and sustained. The post holder will oversee the set-up and coordination of patient appointments and manage incoming referrals in line with service protocols and agreed time frames. They willensure robust and efficient handling of referrals from GPs, internal teams, and tertiaryservices. The post holder will ensure patient pathways are managed effectively, within agreed access standards, and in accordance with RTT (Referral to Treatment) and other relevantperformance frameworks.
