Job summary
TheroleoftheEndoscopyTeamLeaderistoensureofsmoothrunningdepartmentwhere30 thousand patients are scheduled per year. Post holder is responsible for managing a team across the 3 trust sites, lead, coordinate rota, cover annual leave and manage sickness. Post holder responsibilities will include working closely with the training leads to deliver internal, national and international endoscopytrainings. Supervisor/ team and patient coordinator responsibilities will have to work in line with response to stakeholder and JAGrequirements.
The postholdermay be required to workacrosssites to meet the service's needs. This role entails operational decision-making skills, ability to work autonomously using own initiative and within the team in the development and delivery of the diagnostic and treatment service. This role also entails providing support to the pre assessment, EROS and endoscopy administration and clinical staff.
The post holder will be expected to utilize designated operational practices within the specified endoscopy reporting systems/ GCIS/ ICS etc.This role will also include reinsuring funding states for patients from Welsh, Scotland, Northern Ireland and oversees.It is expected that the post holder is highly computer literate, highly experienced within the hospital administrative setting with knowledge and evidence of medical terminology, educated to a level required to perform the role or equivalent experience.
Main duties of the job
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESo Liaise with the endoscopy department and pre assessment team to ensure thatendoscopy lists appropriately booked.o Actively monitor waiting times targets and escalate risks relating to patient pathwaysand waiting times to the lead specialist nurse, service manager and clinical manager.o Ensure management of patient activity and special requests within endoscopyservice are followed up in a timely fashion.o Oversee preparation for the next day admission patient/subject notes retrieval,prepared documents for nursing staff and tracking of patient's progress within the preassessment pathway.o Support the provision of general and basic advice to patient/subject queries andrefers clinical-related queries to Nurses/relevant staff.o Arrange regular meetings to discuss the service and address capacity and pathwayimprovements.o Assist in audit and data collection relating to the JAG/GRS
