Job summary Ready to take your pharmacy career into cuttingedge research? Leeds Teaching Hospitals is hiring a Pharmacy Technician Higher Level to join our Clinical Trials team where innovation meets patient care. Be part of lifechanging treatments.

Main duties of the job Working as a registered Pharmacy Technician the post holder will contribute to the efficient delivery of the Pharmaceutical Service to patients, wards and departments both within the Trust and to other healthcare organisations. This will involve participating in the evening, weekend and Bank Holiday rotas.

Maintain professional and courteous working relationships with staff and respect the equality and diversity of each and every person they come into contact within the course of their business.

Responsible for the training and supervision of Pharmacy Technicians, Pre-Registration Trainee Technicians and Pharmacy Support Workers, ensuring all staff in the service area are kept up to date and informed of any changes in working practice.

Support the line management of a team and be responsible for attendance management, annual leave planning, 1-1s and appraisals.

Job description Job responsibilities Job Summary

This is a varied role where you will be able to use your leadership skills to support the development of the junior members of the team and manage the daily workflow.

You will rely on your comprehensive technical knowledge to manage the pharmacy requirements for handling medicinal products (dispensing, accuracy checking, drug accountability, storage, disposal of medicinal products and monitoring visits).

You will support the set-up process for clinical trials within pharmacy by creating, implementing and maintaining procedures to ensure that all trials are conducted in accordance with the highest possible standards, and in compliance with the principles of GCP (Good Clinical Practice).

Experience in clinical trials would be an advantage however is not a requirement as all necessary training will be provided and we will support you through a structured learning pathway.

This post will involve working across all sites at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

As a large teaching hospital we operate a weekend, evening and Bank Holiday service in our inpatient dispensaries. You will be required to work these on a rotational basis.

What you will bring to the role An exciting opportunity has arisen for a registered, ambitious, self-motivated Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician to join the Medicines Management and Pharmacy Services team at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals in our Clinical Trials department.

You will work as part of our dedicated Clinical Trials dispensary team alongside other technicians, pharmacist, assistants and apprentices providing support services to the clinical trial research teams.

You will act as a point of contact for clinical research associates, investigators and research staff, playing a key role in setting up trials and the day-to-day maintenance of studies at all hospitals within our Trust.

You will assist with managing all aspects of the technical pharmacy clinical trials service and contribute to its future development as we continue to grow.
