Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic GP to come and join our team at Gladstone House Surgery due to one of our current GPs relocating.
We are a forward thinking practice located a short drive from both Nottingham and Derby. We have a passionate and supportive team with a passion for teaching, innovation and excellent patient care. The successful applicant will work 4-6 sessions per week.
Main duties of the job
To deliver high quality medical care for acute and chronic conditions
Review test results and action appropriately
Keep accurate medical records as per GMC best practice
Undertake home visits as needed
Complete paperwork such as referrals, letters and reports in a timely manner.
Cover the duty doctor role
Work effectively as part of the clinical team, supporting allied health professionals such as our ANP, practice nurses and pharmacists.
Be involved with debriefing and supporting medical students.
Be involved in Quality improvement work such as audits
Committed to self-learning and continuous professional development
Attend weekly clinical meetings
About us
At Gladstone we have a tight knit team with approximately 5,000 patients. We pride ourselves on working well together, with a strong work ethic and a team who provide mentoring and support on an on-going basis.
This team includes 2 GP Partners, 2 Salaried GPs, 1 x ACP, 2 Nurses and a supportive admin and cleaning team. We are also supported by our PCN and CCG pharmacists, midwife and care co-ordinators.
We pride ourselves on being a patient focused practice.
We also train Yr 1 & 2 medical students, along with student nurses and work experience school leavers and are working towards training registrars.
We are proud to be part of Erewash Health Partnership. This is a super partnership made up of 6 local practices in the Ilkeston and Long Eaton areas. The partnership has enabled us to develop many effective services to enhance patient care and reduce GP workload. This currently includes a home visiting service, on-the-day service for acute patient demand, FCP, pharmacists, mental health workers, the Frailty team and Chaplains. We also work very closely with our social prescribers and care co-ordinator.
The home visiting and Frailty services cover all our care home needs and the majority of our acute home visits. GP appointment slots are 15 minutes, and we are working to the recommended BMA 25 appointments a day where possible.
We are a high QOF achieving practice.
Free parking for staff is available on site, along with a well-equipped kitchen and staff room area.

Qualifications Essential
GMC registered, currently on the Performers list and has MRCGP or equivalent qualifications. Valid Driving licence Understanding of working effectively within multidisciplinary groups Dealing with the public/patients Good communication skills
Desirable
Experience of using S1 clinical system is not essential as training will be given if never used before.
