WEST CAMHS in Cornwall is offering a unique and exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated Clinical or Counselling Psychologistor Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist tojoin our friendly, values-driven service. We welcome applications from experienced Band 8b-ready psychologists/psychotherapists, as well as those currently working at Band 8a who wish to progress into an 8b leadership role through a structuredpreceptorship pathway.
About the Role
You will join WEST CAMHS as either:
Band 8b Lead Psychologist/Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist, where evidence of 8b-level readiness and experience is demonstrated,or
Band 8a Psychologist/Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist,with a clear development plan andpreceptorship supportto progress to Band 8b during the fixed-term period. This includes mentoring and supervision from both a Consultant Psychologist/Child and Adolescent Psychotherapistand the existing Lead Psychologist.
This is afixed-term post for 2 years, with thepossibility of becoming permanentas the service continues to grow.

Main duties of the job
The main duties will include working with children, adolescents, and their families with complex psychological problems, providing highly specialist psychological assessment and therapy, alongside advice and consultation on client's psychological care to clinical colleagues. The candidate will also be expected to provide clinical supervision and contribute to service strategic developments. The candidate will be expected to work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures. There are opportunities for interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary working, developing supervision skills, and regular supervision will be provided by the wider children's psychology/psychotherapy team.

This is a community-based role that requires frequent travel to various locations throughout the county including areas that may not be accessible by public transportation. Successful candidates will need to demonstrate how they will manage these travel requirements.

Education / Qualifications and Relevant Experience Essential
Professional Registration with HCPC/ACP Post-graduate doctoral level training Experience of working with children and young people with severe emotional/behavioural difficulties.
Knowledge and abilities Desirable
Experience of working with children and young people in care.
