We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 2 Health care assistants to join our teams in ED, Urgent Care, Stroke, Elderly and Frailty.

Interview morning is expected to take place 16.06.26

Main duties of the job

Previous experience within the NHS is desirable but not essential. We have a training development programme in place to support learning and develop you into a competent health care assistant

Job description Job responsibilities

You should be able to demonstrate excellent caring and people skills, gained through working in a care setting. This experience should have given you a good understanding of the fundamentals aspects of care. We are looking to recruit enthusiastic, motivated staff with excellent communication skills to join our forward thinking team. You must have a passion to deliver high quality care, be kind and compassionate. You must be a team player and strive for excellence for both the department and patients.

Assist individual patients with elements of basic nursing care.

Contribute to the ongoing support of patients and their relatives.

Contribute to the support of patients in transition from one care setting to another

Assist with obtaining, transmitting and storing information related to the delivery of a care service.

Person Specification

Skills Essential

Literacy Numeracy Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

Experience Desirable

Previous experience of working in a health care setting Working experience of dealing with members of the public

Knowledge Essential

Understanding of Information Governance and Confidentiality Understanding of equality and diversity issues and how this affects patients, visitors and staff Understanding of what the NHS Constitution means to you, and your responsibilities to the public, patients and colleagues.

Qualifications Essential

Ability to complete Care certificate within allocation timeframes

Desirable

NVQ level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) NVQ level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
