Job summary
Applications are invited to work in our busy Histopathology Department as a Medical Laboratory Assistant working in Sample Reception.
This sample reception post is located at Wrexham Maelor Hospital with the processing of samples being undertaken at our centralised laboratory in Ysbyty Wrexham.
Main duties of the job
An opportunity has arisen for a an enthusiastic and reliable laboratory support workers to join our busy team in the Cellular Pathology department at Ysbyty Wrexham Maelor in North Wales.
As a Medical Laboratory Assistant the post holder will support the Cellular Pathology service by receipting and entering samples onto our laboratory computer system and making sure they are safely transfer to the centralised site. Dealing with reception and telephone queries from staff, GPs and other users of the Pathology Service.
Some knowledge or experience of laboratory work would be an advantage but is not essential as specific training and competencies to meet the job requirements will be given. If you are enthusiastic, enjoy a challenge are willing to go the extra mile and have an eye for detail then this could be the role you are looking for.
