Job Title: Shipping and Receiving ClerkJob DescriptionThe Shipping and Receiving Clerk accurately handles incoming and outgoing materials, operates material handling equipment, and maintains precise inventory records using modern warehouse technologies. This role combines forklift operation with hands-on order pulling, packing, and documentation to ensure efficient and timely shipment and receipt of products.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, stand-up reach trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Use an ERP system to electronically record shipping and receiving data, inventory movements, and transaction details.
• Utilize RF scan guns and bar code scanners to accurately track inventory, verify orders, and maintain real-time data integrity.
• Pull work orders accurately, ensuring the correct items, quantities, and locations are selected.
• Pick and pack orders according to specifications, preparing products securely for shipment.
• Relabel boxes and pallets as needed to ensure correct identification, traceability, and compliance with labeling standards.
• Prepare orders for shipment, including scanning items, verifying contents, and performing inventory control checks.
• Load and unload trucks using forklifts and other equipment, ensuring safe handling and proper placement of materials.
• Perform approximately 30% of work using forklifts and 60% performing manual tasks such as picking, packing, and labeling.
• Complete all required shipping and receiving paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain an organized work area, following established procedures to support a clean, efficient, and safe warehouse environment.
• Collaborate with team members and other departments to resolve order issues and support on-time shipments and receipts.

Essential Skills

• At least 2+ years of shipping and receiving experience in a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience operating a stand-up forklift and reach truck safely and effectively.
• Forklift certification or the ability to meet certification requirements.
• Hands-on experience with RF scan guns and bar code scanning for inventory and order processing.
• Demonstrated experience pulling orders accurately and efficiently.
• Experience loading and unloading trucks using forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Proficiency with ERP systems or similar electronic systems for recording shipping, receiving, and inventory data.
• Ability to perform manual material handling tasks, including picking, packing, and palletizing.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate labeling, documentation, and inventory control.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and safety.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Valley City, OH.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
