We have an exciting opportunity for 1 x Receptionist/Administrator to join our team.
Gamston Medical Centre is located in Gamston near West Bridgford (NG2 6PS) and currently serves 6927 patients. We are in a purpose built premises and located close to local amenities. We are looking to recruit a confident and dynamic person to greet patients and answer telephones in a professional and courteous manner, direct calls, take messages, and provide a first class service to patients of the Practice. The vacancy is for 19 hours:
Monday 08:00 18:30
Tuesday 08:00 18:30

Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will need to have an outgoing and enthusiastic personality, be flexible to meet the needs of the organisation, be IT literate and have a desire to grow and succeed within the organisational structure.
A background in a related administrative role would be useful but is not essential but a desire to learn is a must. Training will be provided to the right candidate and previous applicants need not apply.

Job Purpose:
To ensure that the reception area of the Practice runs smoothly, provides a high level of service to patients, doctors, nurses and other members of the Practice team
Duties and Responsibilities
Telephone Duties
1.
Making appointments
2.
Taking requests for prescriptions from housebound patients
3.
Giving out results
4.
Ambulance transport bookings for on the day service
5.
Home visit requests
6.
Deal with general enquiries and complaints
7.
Contacting other providers
Reception Duties
8.
Register new patients and temporary residents, when required
9.
Greet and direct patients and visitors
10.
Making appointments
11.
Handing out prescriptions
12.
Ensure outstanding queries are explained and handed over to next shift, as necessary
13.
Respond to needs of doctors and nurses during surgery
14.
Collect payments from patients for non-NHS services
15.
Deal with general enquiries and complaints
Filing
16.
Filing and retrieving paperwork as requested (eg. Lloyd George envelopes)
Prescriptions
17.
Dealing with requests for repeat prescriptions

Raising prescriptions as per Practice protocols

Dealing with queries relating to prescriptions

Input and extract information from Practice computer system

Observe health and safety guidelines at all times

General housekeeping (e.g. keeping reception and waiting areas tidy)

Opening up / locking up of practice premises and maintaining security in accordance with practice protocols
