About this role

Job summary

Deben Health Group are looking for a dispensary apprentice who will provide a professional and friendly service to patients and deal with queries in a courteous and efficient way. This is a full-time position working 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday with an expected requirement of around 15 months.

This is a Level 2 Pharmacy Assistant apprenticeship through Buttercups Training with progression to Level 2 Pharmacy Assistant Services where you have the opportunity to work within community pharmacy or dispensing doctors. This role is based within a doctor's surgery and you will assist in the issuing of prescribed medications, help with stock control, ordering and re-stocking of the dispensary. You must understand patient confidentiality.

Please note, most of the role will be undertaken whilst standing.

Main duties of the job

Handing out prescriptions to patients, checking exemptions or taking payments. Helping with stock deliveries and putting stock away. Assisting with preparation of prescriptions for dispensers. Dealing with enquiries from patients, doctors and other agencies in person, over the telephone or through email. Date checking and keeping shelves tidy. General administrative tasks.Training willtake place at the workplace - no need to travel to a college.

About us Deben Health Groupare a dispensing doctors surgery based in East Suffolk providing healthcare for patients living in rural villages. Our team comprises 4 GP Partners, 1 salaried GP, nursing team, reception/admin team, dispensary team supported by a dispensary lead, business manager and an operations manager.
