We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised, and experiencedHousekeeping Supervisor to join our dedicated Hotel Services team. About the RoleAs a Housekeeping Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of our housekeeping assistants. You will ensure all areas of the hospital are maintained to the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness, in line with NHS infection prevention and control protocols.

Ideally, you will hold relevant training qualifications and have experience delivering practical and accredited training.
You should also have:
Previous supervisory experience in a similar environment A strong understanding of infection control standards and NHS cleaning protocols Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships The flexibility to work shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as required

As a Housekeeping Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring that our hospital maintains a clean, safe and welcoming environment for all patients, staff and visitors. Key responsibilities include:
Allocating housekeeping staff across wards and departments to ensure efficient service delivery
Maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for patients, staff and visitors
Delivering and managing accredited training programmes, including Train the Trainer and Assessor responsibilities
Supporting staff development through induction, ongoing training, appraisals, and refresher courses
Providing feedback through verbal and written reports following cleanliness and quality audits
Working closely with clinical teams, department managers, and the wider housekeeping team as part of quality assurance
Supporting the Housekeeping Manager and Senior Supervisor with service delivery and resource management
Contributing to staff rotas and ensuring cost-effective use of resources

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Good basic education/GCSE level Professional Housekeeping experience
Desirable
Achieved NVQ in Supervisor training Formal qualification in cleaning services
Experience Essential
Relevant experience at supervisor level in housekeeping or the delivery of cleaning services. Experience of cleaning systems / procedures and infection-control standards. Experience in working within a housekeeping setting.
Desirable
Experience in managing service issues and complaints. Previous experience with budget monitoring or resource allocation.
Skills and Knowledge Essential
Working knowledge of COSHH and safe chemical management. Proven leadership skills to motivate individuals. Ability to build strong relationships with individuals and manage expectations. Ability to effectively performance manage staff. IT skills include Microsoft Word and Excel to intermediate level. Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
Desirable
Knowledge of NHS cleaning standards. Level 2 or above in Allergan training.
