Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time (20 hours per week) experienced Healthcare Assistant to join the busy clinical team at Goyt Valley Medical Practice.
We are a forward-thinking, CQC outstanding rated practice with a long-standing and supportive multi-disciplinary team and a strong, patient-centred ethos. Our main surgery is based in the semi-rural setting of Whaley Bridge, on the edge of the beautiful Peak District but with easy links to Stockport, Manchester and Sheffield, and our branch surgery is in Chapel-en-le-Frith.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and motivated Healthcare Assistant to join us on a part-time basis to provide a high quality of care to our patients. A successful candidate will be confident with excellent organisation skills and the ability to work alone within the specific remit, as well as being a good team member.
The role is 20 hours per week, ideally worked over three days with two 8am starts and one 8pm finish (currently Tuesdays). Full driving licence preferred.

At Goyt Valley Medical Practice, we comprise of a multi-disciplinary clinical team including GPs, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Clinical Pharmacists, Mental Health Support Worker, Practice Nurses and HCAs alongside a supportive and experienced administration team.

Undertake, record and follow guidelines for the tasks for which you have received appropriate training Urinalysis and preparation of specimens for investigation by the pathology laboratory Administer vaccinations under a patient specific direction (PSD) Measuring and recording following physiological measurements in routine presentations: 1. blood pressure
2. pulse rate and rhythm
3. temperature
4. height and weight body mass index
5. respirations
6. venepuncture
7. ECG
8. basic suture removal
Prepare and maintain environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions
Assist in raising awareness of health and well-being, and how it can be promoted

Support and monitor patients during nebulisation therapy
Work in accordance with current GVMDP Anticoagulation Clinic Protocol
