Job summary
To lead on, develop and monitor experience Translation systems ensuring they are accessible, and that training is continuously delivered across UHN.
You will be responsible for managing the service for Interpreter and Translation Services across UHN. Working flexibly and collaboratively with our contracted providers and all hospital departments and providing management support to 3 Translation Service Administrators.
Ensuring that end to end administration processes by your team are carried out efficiently, whilst working with colleagues to ensure that they are continually reviewed and evaluated.
Main duties of the job
Knowledge, Training and Expertise:
Managing the Translation Service for UHN, inclusive of internal and external partnerships.
Maintaining a professional relationship with external providers of Translation and Interpreting.
To work autonomously and as part of the wider team to address and resolve complex concerns and enquires.
Be responsible and lead on the development of the new UHN Translation Service Policy and Strategy across both sites.
Liaise with all levels of staff, including the Executive Office, senior clinical staff, managers, and other organisations to resolve enquiries.
Promote and disseminate organisational learning by the identification and collation of action plans and service improvements from feedback.
Be responsible for drafting management reports to provide assurance. This will involve gathering and analysing confidential and sensitive data from management systems.
Leading on invoicing for UHN Translation Services.
Develop the Trusts Translation and Interpreting literature.

Person Specification
Education, training & qualifications Essential
Educated to degree standard or equivalent level of education, training or experience. Minimum 3 years' experience managing an Admin Service.
Desirable
Experience of managing a Translation and Interpreting Service for an organisation.
Knowledge & Experience Essential
Proven experience working within and leading teams to deliver results. Project/people/system management. Proven ability in proactively solving complex problems Experience of working with the public and a range of key stakeholders. Previous experience with dealing with conflict. Evidence of continued professional development. Experience of working autonomously and leading a team. Previous line management experience. Proven experience in using NHS procurement systems.
