Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an MDT Co-ordinator for the directorate of General Surgery.
This will involve coordinating and providing administrative support to the Bariatric multidisciplinary team, and to other sub-speciality MDTs, co-ordinating seminar clinics, collating and recording accurate and timely data, providing up to date information on patients pathways. You will work closely with Consultant Surgeons, Specialist nurses, Dieticians, psychologists and secretaries.
You must be able to demonstrate effective organisational and time management skills. A sound general education is required, as are experience of general office functionality and knowledge of IT systems/software packages. GCSE (Grade A C or O level education (Grade A C) or equivalent NVQ level 3 (business admin). You will be responsible for administrative duties and accurately maintaining electronic information therefore sound IT skills is an essential part of the role. Basic Numeracy & Literacy Skills to Level 1 or equivalent are also required. Knowledge of medical terminology/medical administration is desirable. Understanding of the 18 week RTT standard and application of rules through strict guidance
Main duties of the job
To accurately and efficiently compile a list of patients for discussing during the MDT and attend the meeting documenting the MDT outcome live on meditech. To gather key patient information appropriately in preparation for the meeting., Maintain the bariatric database, typing of correspondence and to work with clinicians to ensure National Bariatric Standards are met for the MDT element.

Overall Job Purpose:

Duties and Responsibilities of the Post:
To accurately and efficiently compile a list of Bariatric patients for discussion during the MDT and attend the meetings.
To gather key patient information appropriately in preparation for the meeting e.g. patient notes, test results etc.
Prepare MDT data set to ensure essential patient information is available to the MDT to support the treatment planning decision.
Coordinate meetings, dates, room books and agendas
Providing reports from Launchpad and database
Maintaining bariatric database
Document MDT outcome in Meditech recording these live and action outcomes
Provide updates on patient pathways
Coordinate seminar clinics, booking in/out patients and making follow up appointments
Communicate standard letters to patients/typing of nurse led clinic letters
Work with clinicians to ensure National Bariatric Standards are met for the MDT element
