Job Summary
We are seeking experienced Reach Truck Operators to join a large, fast-paced distribution center. This position is responsible for safely operating reach trucks and stand-up forklifts to unload freight, move inventory throughout the warehouse, and replenish product locations for order selectors. Candidates must have prior experience operating reach trucks or deep-reach forklifts and be comfortable working in both ambient and refrigerated warehouse environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate reach trucks and stand-up forklifts safely and efficiently
- Unload inbound freight shipments and transport materials throughout the warehouse
- Perform put-away functions using RF scanners and warehouse management systems
- Move palletized inventory into designated rack locations
- Replenish lower pick locations by retrieving product from upper racking
- Maintain inventory accuracy through proper scanning and product placement
- Meet productivity, safety, and accuracy standards
- Work independently in a high-volume warehouse environment
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Support warehouse operations as needed
Required Qualifications
- Previous reach truck or deep-reach forklift experience required
- Experience operating stand-up forklifts
- Experience using RF scanners
- Ability to work safely in a warehouse environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to work in refrigerated temperatures when required
Preferred Experience
- Crown reach truck operation
- Cherry picker operation
- Material handling
- Distribution center experience
- Grocery distribution
- Warehouse inventory management
Schedule
- 2nd Shift: 12:00 PM until production is complete
- Typical end time is approximately 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM
- Two consecutive weekdays off each week
- Off days are assigned and will be communicated after hire
Pay & Incentives
- Base Pay: $19.00 to $20.00/hour
- Shift Differential: Additional $1.00/hour
- Performance bonuses available
- Opportunity to earn up to an additional $6.50/hour based on productivity metrics, including accuracy, speed, and efficiency
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of East St. Louis, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
