An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Macmillan Bladder cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our dynamic team Imperial College Healthcare.
As a Bladder Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will provide expert care and nursing advice, to support and facilitate high quality, individualised care to patients and relatives/carers, in collaboration with the multi-Disciplinary team, in line with the local and national targets.
The post will involve offering specialist nursing input to patients with Bladder Cancer. Together with the established Uro-Oncology and multi-disciplinary team, the CNS will aim to deliver a world class patient experience.
The successful candidate will manage their own caseload of patients, working as a part of the multi-disciplinary Team. They will maintain effective communication with patients, families/carers and other healthcare professionals, to ensure seamless service delivery.
Main duties of the job
A clinical nurse specialist (CNS) is a registered nurse with relevant experience and post-registration education for working at an enhanced level within a specific area of practice. They assess, manage, deliver care, advise on, and support patients. CNSs have the autonomy to act and accept responsibility and accountability for their actions, acting as a skilled advisor for patients, or a resource for others. CNSs perform specialist holistic assessment and treatment using a personalised approach. This is characterised by a level of decision making based on detailed knowledge and understanding of their area of practice. As part of the multidisciplinary team CNSs can work in or across many settings, depending on their area of expertise and scope of practice.

Education/ qualifications Essential
NMC registration and a degree in related subject. Post registration qualification(s) in speciality or relevant subject (Cancer) Experience in Bladder Cancer Advanced Communication course and Level 2 psychological skills training. Recognised teaching qualification or demonstratable teaching experience.
