The Associate Practitioner will support the Occupational Therapists in delivering and overseeing high-quality therapy services within the Children's Occupational Therapy Service. The role requires service-wide oversight and contribution to the overall quality and consistency of care across the Trust's geographical area.
This role is for an experienced individual who has a passion for working with children, young people, and their families and has a good knowledge and understanding of child development and the role of Occupational Therapy. This role requires an individual who is dynamic and enjoys working within a team and autonomously. They need to have excellent communication skills and can organise their time effectively. The successful candidate will support the Children's Occupational Therapistsin all aspects of their work and in addition to this, they will have their own responsibilities to provide advice and support to children and young people and their families.
They will provide intervention as directed by members of the team with service users both in a clinic setting,schools, nurseries and within the patient's own homes.There will be an Induction, training, and the opportunity to develop and expand on your existing skills and knowledge.
The successful candidates will have regular supervision.
The APOT is akeyrole within theservice,and the successful candidate will need to have the skills and knowledgeto be able to work with a range of other agencies e.g. Physiotherapy,Education, Social Care and other providers within the area and the wider community, asappropriate.
The ability to commute within the Trust's geographical area, with access to an appropriate means of transport is essential. The successful applicants will have excellent computer skills and engagement skills.
