An excellent opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Accounts Semi Senior to join a well-established and growing accountancy practice based in Leigh-on-Sea. This role is ideal for an AAT qualified, ACA/ACCA studier, or an experienced practice professional looking to further develop their career within a supportive and professional environment.
The Role
Working closely with senior team members and managers, you will be responsible for preparing accounts and supporting a varied portfolio of clients across multiple sectors. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure to all aspects of practice accounting while progressing your professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
- Assisting with the preparation of management accounts
- Preparation of corporation tax computations and returns
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns
- Bookkeeping duties using cloud-based accounting software
- Liaising directly with clients and responding to queries
- Assisting with year-end accounts preparation
- Supporting Senior Accountants and Managers with client portfolios
- Maintaining accurate client records and ensuring compliance with deadlines
About You
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice is essential
- AAT qualified or studying ACA/ACCA (or qualified by experience)
- Good understanding of accounts preparation and bookkeeping
- Experience with software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities
- Able to manage multiple deadlines and work effectively as part of a team
