Requirements
- Candidates must be resident in the UK.
- Strong hands-on enterprise network security engineering experience.
- Practical experience with Check Point, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ISE, Cisco Firewall/FMC and Citrix NetScaler.
- Experience patching and upgrading security infrastructure in live production environments.
- Good understanding of firewalls, authentication and access control.
- Familiarity with ITIL change management and rollback procedures.
- Experience in utilities, energy or critical infrastructure environments, and relevant security certifications, are advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Implement security platform patches, firmware upgrades and vulnerability remediation changes.
- Carry out approved firewall and network security infrastructure changes.
- Perform pre- and post-maintenance checks and validation testing.
- Troubleshoot issues arising from security infrastructure changes.
- Maintain change records and operational handover documentation.

We are seeking Network Security Engineers for a major cybersecurity vulnerability remediation and infrastructure patching programme in a large enterprise environment. This is a hands-on engineering role supporting planned overnight maintenance windows. The contract is for six months, fully remote within the UK, and inside IR35 with payment through an umbrella company. The nights-only shift pattern is expected to be four days on and four days off, with 12-hour shifts from 5:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.; the schedule is to be confirmed.
