Salary: £41,500 - 74,000 per year
Requirements
- Strong information technology background, demonstrated through successful delivery of software projects using a variety of programming approaches
- Experience developing and deploying web-based and desktop applications preferred
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and working with technology leadership, business stakeholders, and senior management
- Experience in insurance, banking, financial services, or another regulated environment preferred
- Strong understanding of database development and application integration
- Relevant qualifications in Computer Science or Information Technology, or equivalent professional certifications
- Essential skills: Microsoft SQL Server development and querying; C# .NET; ASP.NET MVC; HTML; CSS; jQuery; XML; JSON
- Desirable skills: Razor; Bootstrap; LINQ; SOAP/WCF Web Services; Web API; Entity Framework; source control systems; Agile methodologies, Scrum, and sprint-based delivery
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to balance project work with operational support activities
Responsibilities
- Interpret business and system requirements
- Analyse, design, develop, test, and implement applications and websites
- Analyse, develop, modify, and test system changes specified by the business
- Maintain existing internal and external systems and support business users
- Identify and resolve software defects
- Evaluate new technologies and identify opportunities for system improvement
- Take ownership of developed software and provide end-user support through direct interaction with users, business analysts, and IT support teams
- Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge repositories
- Work toward project and business objectives
