Job Title: PackagerJob DescriptionAs a Packager, you will ensure the quality of products coming down the line, performing essential quality checks. Your role involves packaging products into boxes, moving them through the taping machine, and affixing the correct labels. You will maintain the efficiency of packaging and labeling machines, and may receive training for machine setup and basic maintenance. Major repairs will require assistance from the maintenance department. Adherence to food safety practices, including SQF and GMP standards, is mandatory, along with the use of proper PPE in this food manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

• Monitor product quality on the production line.
• Conduct basic quality checks on products.
• Package products into boxes and ensure proper labeling.
• Operate and ensure smooth functioning of packaging and labeling machines.
• Assist in machine setup and perform minor maintenance repairs.
• Adhere to food safety practices, including SQF and GMP standards.
• Use proper PPE at all times.

Essential Skills

• Strong work history in previous roles, especially 2+ years at prior companies.
• Ability to lift 34 pounds or more, with at least 6 months of experience.
• Experience working in a team setting for over 6 months.
• Capability to work overtime, with 6 months of experience in such roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in reading and writing English.
• Attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 6 months of previous manufacturing or production experience.
• 6+ months of experience in food production.
• Previous packaging experience of at least 6 months.

Work EnvironmentThe work environment is a clean room dedicated to cheese manufacturing, maintaining a comfortable temperature year-round. Some areas are louder, and there's a faint cheese or sour milk smell that you will acclimate to over time. The facility is highly automated, requiring a uniform, hairnet, safety glasses, and shoes, all of which are provided. The 3rd shift runs from 9:50 PM to 6 AM starting Monday, across a 7-day schedule with 5 working days. Employees can work any day from Monday to Sunday, with additional pay benefits for weekends.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.20 - $19.95/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
