The Maintenance Electrician works with higher-voltage equipment, supports continuous production operations, and operates with a high degree of independence and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime and prioritize critical repairs while maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Use test equipment, technical documentation, and ladder logic diagrams to systematically troubleshoot and resolve electrical and control problems.
  • Take ownership of maintenance tasks and work with minimal direct supervision, demonstrating reliability, sound judgment, and the ability to be counted on.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and modifications to electrical and control systems.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and performance and communicate recommendations to leadership and maintenance staff.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2 years of industrial electrical experience in a manufacturing or similar heavy industrial environment.
  • Proven ability to work safely with higher-voltage equipment at 480 volts and above.
  • Hands-on experience with three-phase motors, including installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Strong PLC troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose issues using ladder logic.
  • Experience working with Allen-Bradley PLCs and related control hardware.
  • Ability to work with Siemens PLCs at a basic troubleshooting level.

  • Solid understanding of AC and DC electrical systems and components.
  • Electrical maintenance experience, including repair and upkeep of industrial equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to install, bend, and repair conduit and perform related industrial electrical installation tasks.
  • Capacity to work independently as the only electrician on site and make sound technical decisions with limited supervision.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret ladder logic diagrams and electrical schematics accurately.
  • Experience programming PLCs is a plus and would be highly valued.

Experience in troubleshooting mechanical aspects of equipment in addition to electrical systems.

  • Familiarity with industrial drives and motor control systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to diagnosing electrical and control issues.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with maintenance, production, and leadership teams.
  • Demonstrated reliability and accountability in previous maintenance or industrial electrical roles.
