At OpenText, AI is at the heart of everything we do—powering innovation, transforming work, and empowering digital knowledge workers. We are hiring talent AI can't replace to help us shape the future of information management. Join us.

OpenText is a world leader in Information Management, where innovation, creativity, and collaboration are key components of our corporate culture. As a Lead UX Developer on the Viewing and Transformation Development team, you will independently design, build, and constantly improve the user experience on our cloud and on-premise AI-enabled solutions that serve clients and employees globally. You will work across front-end, back-end, APIs, content platforms, cloud services, and delivery automation. This is a hands-on senior individual-contributor role that owns defined solutions and smaller projects end to end, guides teammates where appropriate, and continuously improves engineering practices.

Your Impact

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Lead UX Developer with a strong expertise in React development to join our dynamic team. You will collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and others to translate design concepts into efficient and user-friendly interfaces. You will be a key contributor in building and maintaining the UX clients for viewing and interacting with large-scale enterprise information management platforms, ensuring optimal experience, performance and scalability.

What the role offers

As a Lead UX Focused, Full Stack Developer, you will:

  • Possess 6-10 years of professional experience in modern enterprise-grade cloud and web application development.
  • Design, develop, test, document, deploy, and maintain UX applications, APIs, integrations, and supporting services.
  • Build responsive and accessible user experiences using modern HTML, CSS, JavaScript, node.js, and the React framework.
  • Analyze existing and projected applications and implement enhancements that meet functional, performance, security, availability, and supportability requirements.
  • Work closely with product managers, designers, and developers to refine user stories and maintain the product backlog.
  • Contribute to best practices, ensure maintainability, and stay updated with the latest React, Javascript, Node.js, HTML/CSS, and similar skillsets and technologies.
  • Design applications for efficiency, scalability, and seamless UX/UI integration.
  • Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and implement unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
  • Use containers, source control, artifact repositories, and cloud services to deliver repeatable deployments across development, test, and production environments.
  • Participate in Agile planning, estimation, backlog refinement, design reviews, code reviews, debugging, release activities, incident response, and root-cause analysis.
  • Apply secure-development, privacy, accessibility, and data-handling standards throughout the software lifecycle.
  • Evaluate technical options, make evidence-based recommendations, and communicate trade-offs clearly to technical and business stakeholders.
  • Use approved AI coding tools responsibly to accelerate delivery while maintaining code quality, explainability, security, and human accountability.
  • Coordinate defined work packages, guide less-experienced developers, evaluate new tools, and drive continuous improvement in development processes.

What you need to Succeed

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent, with 5+ years of Client/front-end expertise.
  • Strong proficiency in React, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and node.js with experience in responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and accessibility.
  • Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs and asynchronous programming for seamless data interactions.
  • Demonstrated experience independently delivering production applications or systems across multiple stages of the software lifecycle.
  • Experience with Git-based source control, automated testing, CI/CD, containers, and structured deployment practices.
  • Working knowledge of cloud application services in at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Ability to analyze incomplete information, adapt to ambiguity, select an appropriate course of action, and resolve complex but identifiable technical problems.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to coordinate work and explain technical decisions to varied audiences.

As an experienced Software Developer, your extensive skills beyond the core set listed above (due to previous roles and other technology) can also be an asset and a differentiator. Additional skills of interest include but are not limited to SQL/database providers, Kubernetes, Java, Python, SVG, WebAssembly, state management fundamentals, etc.
