Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced Transmission Line Mechanic to join our Energy & Utilities team in Taupō.
In this hands-on field role, you’ll help deliver electricity transmission work programmes safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Working alongside your Supervisor and crew, you’ll carry out site works, plant and equipment, and help ensure each job is completed on time, and right the first time.
You’ll complete quality assurance documentation, identify and raise potential variations before work proceeds, and communicate clearly with your team, clients and other stakeholders. You’ll also have opportunities to share your knowledge and support the development of junior team members.
Safety is central to everything we do. You’ll actively contribute to our Zero Harm culture by following health, safety and environmental procedures, managing risks, and reporting hazards, incidents and near misses.

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:
- New Zealand Certificate in Electricity Supply in Transmission Line Maintenance (Level 4)
- Current Electrical Licence
- Prior experience working on transmission networks
- NZ Full Class 1 driver licence
- Adaptability to complete work in a range of outdoor conditions
- A strong commitment to safe work practices, quality and environmental responsibility
- The ability to work effectively as part of a field-based team
- Sound verbal and written communication skills
- Confident using mobile devices and apps to record job information
- A willingness to support and mentor less-experienced team members
