Job Title: Industrial Detailer / DrafterJob DescriptionWe are seeking an Industrial Detailer/Drafter to join a dynamic industrial construction and fabrication team in York, PA. This full-time, direct placement role involves developing detailed fabrication and erection drawings for structural steel, miscellaneous metals, plate weldments, and mechanical components in support of heavy industrial projects. The position offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with project managers, fabrication teams, and shop personnel to ensure accurate and efficient execution of projects.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed shop, fabrication, and erection drawings for structural steel, miscellaneous metals, plate weldments, and mechanical components.
• Interpret construction, engineering, and mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Develop fabrication drawings from project and design documents.
• Generate and respond to RFIs throughout the detailing process.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and shop personnel to optimize fabrication and field installation.
• Review project comments and revise drawings as needed prior to fabrication.
• Support reverse engineering efforts and develop solutions for custom industrial applications.
• Ensure drawing accuracy, quality, and compliance with project requirements.
• Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Skills

• Associate Degree, Technical Certificate, or equivalent experience in CAD Technology, Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of drafting and detailing principles.
• Ability to read and interpret construction and mechanical drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 1-5 years of detailing experience within structural steel, miscellaneous metals, fabrication, or industrial construction.
• Experience creating shop and erection drawings.
• Knowledge of AISC standards and industrial drafting symbols.
• Experience with Tekla or other 3D modeling software.
• Exposure to fabrication shop environments.
• Knowledge of industrial equipment, material handling systems, or heavy industrial processes.
• Engineering or CAD Technology degree.
• Knowledge of AWS welding standards and industrial codes.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $66560.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
