Field Technician @ Actalent

Job Title: CQA Field TechnicianJob DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) Technician to join our team and provide CQA services for landfill and landfill gas projects in the Denver, CO area and the western part of the country (80% Travel). This role involves ensuring that construction activities comply with design plans and technical specifications, contributing to the overall success of our projects.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily site inspections at landfills or construction sites.
• Manage and oversee landfill gas and landfill construction to ensure compliance with design plans.
• Perform construction quality assurance (CQA) to meet drawings and technical specifications.
• Maintain and monitor landfill gas or remedial systems.
• Coordinate activities with General Contractors and Subcontractors.
• Submit daily written and photo log reports.
• Prepare construction documentation reports as required.
• Assist in training engineering technicians, associate staff, and staff professionals in field activities.
• Support office operations when necessary.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of technician experience in Landfill gas CQA or Liner CQA.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• 2-3 years of experience in active construction sites or engineering field work.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, and PDFs, especially for Daily Field Logs using fillable Excel Templates.
• OSHA 40-HOUR - HAZWOPER

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience with Geosynthetics Inspections.
• Certifications in Soils or Concrete.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to perform markups on drawings, field data collections, and field reports.
• Ability to validate and verify design accuracy.
• Familiarity with erosion control measures.
• Transferable skills from engineering earth work inspection or soil inspection.

Work EnvironmentThis position involves significant travel, with a schedule of 3-4 weeks on-site followed by a one-week break. The role requires overnight stays and regional travel, primarily in AZ/CA/NV/NM/CO or some east coast states. Initial training involves two days in the office for onboarding and safety training, followed by three days of exposure at different landfill sites. The role includes 80% travel and 20% office work. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $27.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
