Location: Chennai Req ID: 30395 Job Responsibilities About the Role We are seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead benchmarking and strategic development programs within our welding consumables business.
- This role combines technical expertise in welding and materials science with modern project management practices to drive cross-functional initiatives, track program execution, and provide executive-level visibility through data-driven dashboards and reporting.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of welding consumables, materials engineering, or welding processes, coupled with hands-on experience using Agile project management methodologies and digital project management tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate consumables benchmarking programs, including competitive product evaluations, technical assessments, and performance comparisons.
- Manage cross-functional projects involving R&D, manufacturing, product management, quality, and commercial teams using Agile project management principles.
- Develop and maintain project plans, risk registers, timelines, and resource tracking using tools such as Smartsheet and related project management platforms.
- Build Power BI dashboards and executive reports that provide clear visibility into project progress, portfolio health, technical milestones, and business impact.
- Drive program reviews, action tracking, and stakeholder communication to ensure projects remain aligned with strategic objectives.
- Job Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Welding Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in welding consumables, welding technology, materials engineering, or a related industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of welding processes, consumable technologies, and product development lifecycle.
- Experience with Agile project management methodologies and cross-functional program leadership.
- Proficiency in Smartsheet, Power BI, Microsoft Project, Jira, or similar project management and reporting tools.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills.
