Job Title: Supply Chain Engineer 2Job DescriptionThe role of Supply Chain Engineer 2 is to manage inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring the timely and efficient receipt and delivery of materials. The position involves maintaining high-velocity material flow by adhering to corporate policies and collaborating with various functional areas.
Responsibilities
- Ensure material is shipped, received, stored, or delivered quickly and efficiently.
- Provide logistics management, analysis, and support for inbound and outbound material flow.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts using CPS Guiding Principles to eliminate excess inventory and manage material flowpaths.
- Develop, maintain, and support transportation requirements, including determining appropriate mode and carrier.
- Monitor carrier performance, identify root causes of issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Decrease transportation costs and reduce premium freight expenses.
- Improve carrier quality, container scheduling, and availability.
- Manage and support business unit or facility logistics activities.
- Resolve transportation issues and manage facility freight expenses, including filing carrier loss and damage claims.
- Analyze and perform root cause corrective actions to resolve freight non-compliance issues.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with 2-4 years of relevant experience.
- High school diploma or GED with 8 years of experience in supply chain management or related fields.
- Associate's degree in supply chain management or related field with 6 years of relevant experience.
- Experience as a Logistics Planning Analyst or in a similar role.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience supporting prototype, pilot, or NPI programs.
- Knowledge of procurement, supplier management, logistics, and material planning processes.
- Experience with enterprise resource planning systems such as SAP or Oracle.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, reporting, and data analysis.
Work EnvironmentThe work environment involves collaborating with various departments and external partners, including transportation carriers, import/export companies, and 3rd party logistics providers. The role may involve working in a facility with diverse logistics activities and requires managing and supporting business unit logistics.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Chillicothe, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
