-Job Summary
- We are hiring Cable Technicians II & III to support structured cabling installations for data center and commercial construction projects. This role involves installing, routing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting copper and fiber optic cabling while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
-Key Responsibilities
- Install, route, dress, and secure copper and fiber optic cabling.
- Terminate Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic cable.
- Install cable tray, ladder rack, J-hooks, and supporting infrastructure.
- Label, test, and troubleshoot network cabling systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, cable schedules, and construction drawings.
- Complete cable testing and certification using industry-standard equipment.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and as-built records.
- Follow all site safety requirements and quality standards.
- Work closely with project teams to meet installation schedules.
-Requirements
- Experience installing and terminating structured cabling systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
- Experience testing and troubleshooting cabling systems.
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Ability to work in data center and construction environments.
- Ability to lift materials, climb ladders, and work on your feet throughout the day.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
-Technician Levels:
Cable Technician II
- 2+ years of structured cabling experience.
- Experience pulling, routing, labeling, and terminating copper or fiber cabling.
- Familiarity with industry installation standards and best practices.
Cable Technician III
- 3+ years of structured cabling experience.
- Advanced copper and fiber termination experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot cabling issues and interpret complex project drawings.
- Experience supporting large-scale data center or commercial projects preferred.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
