Manufacturing Laborer @ Aerotek

Job Title: Manufacturing LaborerJob DescriptionThis role involves performing a variety of general labor tasks in a metal manufacturing environment, including preparing parts for welders and machine operators, supporting metal fabrication activities, and assisting with material handling, loading, and unloading. You will regularly use a tape measure, hand tools, and power tools to ensure parts and materials are ready for production.

Responsibilities

• Prepare metal parts for welders, machine operators, and metal fabrication workers according to specifications.
• Assist with material handling, including loading and unloading materials and products safely and efficiently.
• Use a tape measure to accurately measure and verify dimensions of parts and materials.
• Operate and maintain basic hand tools and power tools used in metal fabrication and general manufacturing.
• Support general labor tasks across the production floor as needed to keep operations running smoothly.
• Follow established safety procedures and practices while working in a metal manufacturing environment.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards to support efficient production.

Essential Skills

• Ability to perform general labor tasks in a manufacturing production environment.
• Experience working in metal fabrication or metal manufacturing settings.
• Proficiency using a tape measure to take accurate measurements.
• Comfort and familiarity with using hand tools.
• Comfort and familiarity with using power tools.
• Ability to perform material handling tasks, including loading and unloading.
• Capability to work safely and effectively in a non-climate-controlled environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Any education or certifications related to the manufacturing industry are a plus.
• Overhead crane experience is a bonus.
• Prior experience in fabrication or metal fabrication is beneficial.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to different tasks within a production environment.

Work EnvironmentYou will work in a metal manufacturing facility that is non-climate controlled, so temperatures may vary with the seasons. The environment involves active production areas with metal fabrication, material handling, and the use of hand and power tools. Appropriate safety gear, including steel toe boots, is required, and an annual steel toe boot voucher is provided to support this. The role requires working on your feet for much of the shift and being comfortable in a busy, industrial setting focused on safety and productivity.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Springfield, MO.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
