About this role
If you love the variety of mixed animal medicine, appreciate a team that has your back, and believe a good sense of humour belongs in the workplace, we think we might get along pretty well. Our team at Peace River Veterinary Services is looking for a full-time, permanent Mixed Animal Veterinarian to join us! We're a progressive mixed animal practice with a diverse caseload, modern diagnostic equipment, plenty of opportunities to learn, and a team of people who genuinely enjoy working together.
We love what we do, we're proud of the relationships we've built with our clients, and we believe that great veterinary medicine starts with great people. We may be biased, but we think we've got something pretty special here in Peace River. Our team is hardworking, supportive, down-to-earth, and passionate about providing exceptional care to the animals and people in our community. We take pride in the medicine we practice, the relationships we build, and the way we show up for one another.
We also believe there's room for laughter in even the most serious professions. After all, when you work with animals, a sense of humour comes in handy! One of the things we love most about our practice is the variety. From companion animal medicine to bovine and equine work, there's always an opportunity to put your skills to use, learn something new, or explore an area of veterinary medicine you're passionate about.
And the best part? You'll never have to figure it all out on your own with our new Mentorship Program. As part of Mosaic Veterinary Partners, we're connected to an incredible network of veterinarians, including highly respected professionals in bovine and equine medicine who are genuinely passionate about mentorship and sharing their knowledge. Whether you're a newer graduate finding your footing or an experienced veterinarian looking for an opportunity to grow, we're excited about what we can learn from each other.
Our Little Corner of Alberta If you haven't spent much time in Peace River, we think you're in for a pleasant surprise. Our community is nestled in a beautiful river valley in northwestern Alberta, surrounded by stunning scenery and endless opportunities to get outside. With hiking, fishing, camping, skiing, and plenty of recreation opportunities, there's no shortage of things to enjoy when you're not at the clinic. And with a population of approximately 7,000, Peace River has that wonderful small-town feeling where people know their neighbours, support local businesses, and genuinely care about their community.
There's also something pretty rewarding about being a veterinarian in a place where you get to know your clients, their families, and sometimes several generations of their animals. And yes, there's a good chance you'll run into a client at the grocery store. We consider that part of the charm!
