Job Description
- The main tasks of the Job Role "Buyer" are sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials and services to ensure cost efficiency.
- This role follows procurement strategies, optimizes processes and supports business goals.
- The Program Purchasing Manager is responsible for leading all purchasing activities related to assigned programs/projects throughout the product lifecycle, from quotation and development to production and end-of-life.
- The role ensures supplier performance, cost competitiveness, timely material availability, risk mitigation, and alignment with business objectives.
- The individual acts as the primary purchasing interface between internal teams and suppliers while driving cost, quality, delivery, and sustainability targets.
- What you can look forward to as Assistant Manager - Program Purchasing Buyer: Program Purchasing Management – Lead purchasing activities for new launches and ongoing programs, ensuring procurement milestones and project timelines are achieved.
- Supplier Development & Performance – Manage supplier selection, performance, capacity planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Cost Optimization – Drive VAVE savings, annual cost reduction targets, benchmarking activities, and cost forecasting.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Logistics, Finance, and Program teams to support project success and issue resolution.
- Risk, Compliance & Supply Continuity – Identify supply chain risks, implement mitigation plans, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain purchasing documentation.
- Your Profile as Assistant Manager - Program Purchasing Buyer: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Master’s Degree/MBA preferred.
- 5–10+ years of experience in Purchasing, New Product Development (NPD), Costing, or Program Management.
- Strong supplier management and negotiation experience with proven stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience in new product launches , preferably within the Automotive or Industrial sector.
