About this role
If you are a Cost Manager looking to take responsibility for cost and commercial delivery, an established multi-disciplinary cost management consultancy is seeking a Cost Manager to support client developments in London. The Cost Manager will cover pre- and post-contract services, from cost planning and tender support to valuations, reporting and final accounts.
The Company
The Cost Manager will join teams working with clients across construction projects. The consultancy supports professional development through mentoring and reverse mentoring, and encourages people to take ownership of their career progression. The Cost Manager will work collaboratively with colleagues and clients.
The Role
As a Cost Manager, you will support commercial decisions and maintain clear cost information throughout project delivery. Responsibilities include:
- Preparing estimates, cost plans and cost reports, and producing valuations to monitor project spend.
- Supporting tender processes, final accounts and the resolution of claims and contract changes.
- Helping address commercial issues promptly and fairly, including construction disputes and loss-and-expense claims.
The Candidate
The Cost Manager will bring practical experience across pre- and post-contract cost management on varied projects. You will be organised, comfortable working with clients and project teams, and able to manage competing deadlines. Short periods of travel may be required.
- Degree or comparable experience in cost management or a construction discipline.
- Confident preparing cost plans, valuations, reports and final accounts.
- Able to support tendering and resolve commercial or contractual issues.
In Return
£55,000 - £70,000 with the final package dependent on experience. The role offers scope to take ownership of your career development, alongside mentoring and reverse-mentoring opportunities across different levels and roles.
