General Production Worker @ Aerotek

Job Title: General Production Worker (Parts Packer) | Pay range : $20-22

Job DescriptionThis role focuses on inspecting, sorting, counting, and packaging manufactured hardware, metal bars, and mechanical components into containers to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient shipping and storage in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect metal parts and finished products for defects, damage, or incorrect sizing.
• Sort and organize parts based on work orders and packing instructions.
• Count parts and verify quantities before shipment.
• Package products into boxes, crates, or cartons using protective materials.
• Weigh packaged products and record information for shipping.
• Apply barcodes, labels, and part numbers accurately.
• Use RF scanners, pallet jacks, and basic hand tools.
• Assist with machine setup and tooling adjustments when required.
• Support punch press and CNC machine operations as needed.
• Load and move materials, including heavy lifting of 50+ lbs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all production and safety procedures.

Required Skills & Experience

• Production, manufacturing, machine shop, or general labor experience.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs or more regularly.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to count parts and match part numbers correctly.
• Comfortable standing for long periods.
• Experience using:
• Hand tools
• RF scanners
• Pallet jacks
• Packaging equipment
• Ability to read work orders, bills of materials, and packing lists.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Machine setup or tooling adjustment experience.
• Punch press experience.
• CNC machine experience.
• Machine shop or industrial manufacturing Experience.
• Experience working in a climate-controlled production facility.

Work Environment

• Climate-controlled and air-conditioned machine shop.
• Facility contains approximately 50 Hydromat machines.
• Fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Frequent standing, walking, and heavy lifting.
• Regular use of:
• RF scanners
• Pallet jacks
• Hand tools
• Packaging materials
• Industrial machinery
• Safety-focused workplace with required industrial work attire.

Schedule

• May require 1-3 weeks of training on 1st shift before moving to regular schedule.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
