Job Overview
- Black Walk Investments Inc. is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented team member to support the cleaning and general upkeep of our commercial properties in Peterborough, with occasional light duties at nearby residential buildings.
This role is primarily focused on maintaining clean, professional, and well-presented commercial environments.
Primary
Responsibilities
Commercial Cleaning & Upkeep
- Clean and sanitize common areas, entrances, corridors, washrooms, break rooms and shared spaces
- Sweep, mop, vacuum and dust
- Remove garbage and recycling
- Clean interior windows and glass
- Maintain exterior entrances and walkways
- Restock washroom and cleaning supplies
- Keep janitorial equipment and storage areas clean and organized
- Use cleaning products and equipment safely and follow established procedures
- Monitor how the building looks and report maintenance concerns, safety hazards or supply needs to management
Secondary
Responsibilities
Property Support
- Handle minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, small repairs and paint touch-ups
- Help with commercial unit turnovers
- Give occasional support at residential buildings for common minor repairs
Seasonal Responsibilities
- Seasonal exterior clean-ups
- Landscaping support, including lawn cutting, trimming and garden maintenance
- Snow clearing and salting of entrances and walkways
Qualifications
- Prior commercial cleaning experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Physically capable of lifting (50lbs), bending, and working on your feet
- Valid driver?s license
- Professional demeanor when interacting with tenants and vendors
- We are seeking a dependable *Custodian* to help maintain a clean, safe, and orderly facility.
- This role supports daily operations by caring for shared spaces, restrooms, work areas, and building surfaces.
- Previous *commercial cleaning* or *facilities maintenance* experience is helpful but not required. Training can be provided.
Skills
- Knowledge of *cleaning* practices, products, and equipment, or willingness to learn.
- Ability to complete routine tasks carefully and work independently.
- Dependability, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe environment.
- Ability to follow instructions and workplace safety procedures.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform routine cleaning tasks throughout a shift.
Pay: From $3,500.00 per month
