About the Role
- We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Developer – Linux BIOS to design, develop, and maintain embedded software solutions for Linux-based platforms.
- The role involves enhancing system functionality, resolving defects and vulnerabilities, and ensuring secure, high-performance operation of embedded products through close collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain embedded software for Linux BIOS and embedded Linux platforms.
- Design, implement, and optimise software components using C/C++.
- Develop new features and resolve software defects, performance issues, and security vulnerabilities.
- Implement and maintain multithreaded applications and inter-process communication (IPC) mechanisms.
- Work closely with Linux kernel and driver components to support system functionality and hardware integration.
- Support the build, customization, and maintenance of embedded Linux distributions such as Yocto and Buildroot.
- Follow secure software development practices, including support for Secure Boot, Secure Update, and remediation activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams during design, development, testing, and release phases.
- Maintain source code and development artefacts using Git version control.
- Technical Skills: Strong programming skills in C/C++ Embedded Linux Software Development Linux BIOS Development and Maintenance Multithreading and Inter-Process Communication (IPC) Linux Kernel and Driver Fundamentals Yocto and Buildroot Software Debugging and Performance Optimisation Git Version Control Secure Software Development Practices Primary Technology Focus Embedded Linux Development | Linux BIOS | C/C++ Programming | Kernel & Driver Integration | Secure Embedded Systems | Yocto & Buildroot Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related field.
- 6-10 years of experience in embedded software development on Linux-based platforms.
- Strong understanding of Linux architecture, system programming, and embedded device integration.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts such as Secure Boot, Secure Update, and vulnerability remediation.
- Knowledge of Rust programming language is an added advantage.
- Exposure to communication protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, MQTT, or similar industrial protocols is desirable.
- Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Ideal Candidate : A hands-on embedded software professional with strong expertise in C/C++, Linux-based system development, kernel-level concepts, and secure embedded product development, capable of delivering reliable and scalable solutions throughout the product lifecycle.
