Requirements
- At least 2–3 years of experience as a Product Owner in a SaaS environment, managing backlogs, working with development teams, and building product roadmaps.
- Demonstrable ability to carry out the key elements of the Product Owner role.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, listening, and stakeholder-engagement skills.
- Enthusiasm for new technologies and innovation, with a proactive approach to challenging existing practices and bringing forward ideas.
- Strong attention to detail, including the ability to interpret supplied information, understand its sources, and challenge it where necessary.
- Ability to engage with customers to understand requirements and support functional or technical product discussions.
- Relevant commercial experience and awareness to help prioritise product investments and drive commercial product success.
- Good understanding of technology, digital services, and trends.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and external stakeholders.
- Desirable: Experience integrating AI into commercial products to solve business problems.
Responsibilities
- Understand customer needs and personas, including why customers engage with the product, and become an expert in the problems it addresses.
- Run structured workshops with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Define and build solutions that address customer needs, and define their benefits and measures of success.
- Understand the competition and identify ways to stay ahead.
- Identify opportunities to use AI agents and implement them within the product area using Workdays agent tools.
- Launch products and features, organising and enabling internal teams such as delivery, pre-sales, and onboarding to maximise impact.
- Own the product roadmap across one or more functional areas and translate customer and market needs into clear priorities.
- Manage roadmap delivery and the product backlog, creating actionable user stories for development teams and prioritising work to meet goals.
- Identify and measure success criteria for delivered features.
- Define and communicate release acceptance criteria for each feature, including minimum viable product criteria.
- Measure, track, and improve non-functional aspects of the product.
- Contribute to marketing campaigns and external positioning when needed.
- Support sales efforts as required, including product demonstrations and customer discussions on technical aspects of the product.
- Balance customer needs, commercial priorities, and technical considerations when making product decisions.
