Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Java 11+, Spring and Spring Boot 3.x
- Experience developing microservices, REST APIs, Apache Kafka and Kafka Streams
- Strong SQL skills and understanding of data modelling, data analysis and dbt
- Cloud experience across AWS, GCP or Azure, ideally including GKE
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Jenkins, IAM and API gateways such as Apigee
- Experience with Python, Pytest, API automation and ETL testing
- Strong understanding of TDD, BDD, shift-left testing, unit, integration and regression testing
- Familiarity with security and performance testing, and observability tools such as Dynatrace, Grafana and Prometheus
- Experience with Jira, Xray and Allure Reports
- Banking or financial services experience is highly desirable
- Desirable: experience with Harness, Backstage golden paths, One IDP and AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer (Java) for a Tier-1 banking client in Manchester. This is an initial six-month contract, with the possibility of extending beyond six months.
